Topics in Cultural Studies - Literature, Medicine, & the Body

Course Description

Literature and medicine share an intense interest in the human experience of being embodied and in deciphering the meaning of different types of bodily experiences. In this course we will look at the intersecting and contradictory ways the two fields represent and interpret these experiences— and the ways different bodies resist and rewrite literary, medical, and cultural narratives.
